Tórshavn Marathon
A unique running experience through nature, along waterfalls, fjords and the cosy atmopsphere of the smalles capital of the world. The Tórshavn Marathon course is commencing from the center of Tórshavn, continuing around the city along the seaside, on nicely paved roads and through peaceful city spaces.
After a scenic 8k around a large part of the city, the runners continues to the beautiful and scening fjord of Kaldbak, offering both demanding hills and completely flat areas. This is the hilliest and literally most breathtaking part of the route.
Returning from the fjord the runners continues through the city and will be able to take in the authentic and cosy atmosphere of the diverse architecture and narrow streets of the old parts of Tórshavn.
Half Marathon in the West
Run the Faroe Islands’ Most Beautiful Half Marathon. The route begins in the picturesque village of Gásadalur and boasts of views of Mykines, Tindhólm, Bø, Trælanípa, Koltur and Trøllkonufingur. The route takes you through all the villages on the island along the waterfront pass Vagar Airport, along the lake, by locals named Sørvágsvatn or Leitisvatn depending on which village you are from, the finishing line is by the historic church of Sandavágur.
Half Marathon in Sandoy
Experience the beautiful area around Sandur by foot – run or walk, your choice! The poet Heðin Brú once wrote that Sandoy was “the maiden among the Faroe Islands”. The unique flatlands and low mountains are characteristic of Sandoy, and the chosen route for the upcoming half marathon takes full advantage of its beautiful surroundings, offering a special experience for runners and walkers alike.
